The Park City Bach Cheat Sheet
The fast version of what to book first, where to stay, how to get around, and how much to fit into one weekend.
Start with the weekend dates, the house, and the group’s ski-pass decision. Then protect one celebration dinner and one anchor experience per full day. Stay near Old Town for walkability, near the chosen resort for mountain access, or in Kimball Junction for practical larger rentals—and leave arrival night intentionally easy.
Book these first
1. Dates and lodging
Check the Park City events calendar before committing. Large homes, walkable Old Town rentals, and slopeside inventory are the pieces that are hardest to replace.
2. Resort and passes
Decide Epic versus Ikon and confirm whether anyone snowboards before choosing the neighborhood. Deer Valley is ski-only; Park City Mountain welcomes skiers and snowboarders.
3. The big dinner
Choose one celebration meal and call the restaurant directly when the group is larger than its online reservation limit.
4. One anchor per day
Skiing, a spa block, Olympic Park, a distillery visit, or a summer mountain outing is enough. Build breathing room around it.
Where to stay—the short version
Old Town / Main Street
Best for restaurants and nightlife on foot. Expect older homes, stairs, tighter parking, and premium weekend pricing.
Park City Mountain Village
A useful middle ground for Epic Pass groups that still want reasonable access to Old Town.
Canyons Village
Best for a self-contained resort feel, Park City Mountain access, and easy après. Plan a ride for Main Street nights.
Deer Valley
Quiet, polished, and ideal for a ski-only group prioritizing service and mountain access.
Kimball Junction
Best for larger practical rentals, groceries, parking, and value. It is not a walk-to-Main-Street experience.
Local realities that change the plan
Altitude is part of arrival day
Park City sits around 7,000 feet. Hydrate, eat, and keep the first night lighter than the group chat originally suggested.
You may not need a rental car
Park City has free public transit. A walkable house plus one planned airport transfer is often easier than coordinating several cars.
Mountain weather needs margin
Do not stack a timed outdoor activity, a long drive, and the celebration dinner back-to-back. Conditions and gear changes eat time.
Arrival setup needs access
Confirm parking, entry codes, decor rules, quiet hours, and an early vendor-access window with the lodging host in writing.
A weekend rhythm that works
Thursday
Arrive to a stocked and styled rental, order an easy dinner, and let the group settle in.
Friday
Use the day for the signature activity, then choose either a relaxed dinner or a bigger Main Street night.
Saturday
Start slowly with brunch, keep the afternoon flexible, and make this the celebration-dinner night.
Sunday
Protect time for breakfast, packing, airport transfers, and altitude-recovery coffee. Avoid a complicated final reservation.
